In the meantime, NAU Technics, a company specializing in the industrial robot SI, announced that it would enter the service robot field at the exhibition. An official of the company introduced an ice cream robot developed as a project of Daegu Mechatronics & Materials Institute on that day. This robot system using collaborative robots of Rainbow Robotics is regarding when a person chooses a menu, quantity and type at a kiosk and pays through the machine, a robot handles a cone, receives an ice cream and delivers it to the consumer. According to a NAU Robotics official, “We are also considering models to put various types of ice cream on cones or to scoop and place ice cream by diversifying the nozzles. We are planning to develop further the proto type introduced at this exhibition, decorate the external design to fit actual ice cream stores and develop diverse models, such as types with one arm, two arms or a face.”
